I gather inspiration for my work in a variety of places - the creeping vine of a strangler fig that suffocates its host plant; the thin veil of incense smoke that climbs from a church censor; the porous surface of a bone revealed on a density scan. I like to ruminate on these sorts of images, abstract them, compound them, dissolve or distort them, until they become something else entirely- a reflection of our own experiences of growth and degeneration.
